NAC Raider Group 23 (RadGru23)

Raider Group 23 (RadGru23) is a special operations task force which is attached to the NAC Fifth Fleet under COMOUTFLT.

During peace time, operations, elements of RadGru23 operate within the region around Chi Draconis as a cohesive battle group. During routine operations, various Fifth Fleet elements are rotated though the squadron on a eight monthly basis. This allows for behind the lines training, and for fleet exercises with Neu Swabian League units. In a mutual exchange program, units are regularly attached to NSL task forces for cross training activities.

During sustained combat operations, RadGru23 is tasked with penetrating enemy territory for strikes against C4I (Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Intelligence) facilities and military infrastructure elements.

At present, the RadGru23 presented here consists of a self sufficient task force requiring little logistical support for up to 6 months at a time, combat losses not withstanding. During times of sustained combat operations, the Fleet Auxilliary, RNS Amythest is assigned to the group to provide logistical support and replacement fighters for the group. Given the nature of their primary mission, the ships are in excellent condition, and crews attached to this squadron are among the most highly trained and experienced that can be drawn from the Fifth Fleet.
